This indicator shows the total amount of farmland, as well as the average and median size of farms The median size of farms is the size at which half of all the farms are smaller and half are larger. A larger median size of farms indicates that there are more large farms.
In Lewis in 2017:
- there were 200,435 acres in farmland,
- the average farm size was 1,017 acres,
- the median farm size was 206 acres, and
- the amount of farmland decreased 19 percent from 2007 to 2017.
