They are based on averages of data collected in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. These estimates cannot be used to say what is going on in any particular year in the period, only what the average value is over the full period. Some reservations have no data reported due to their small populations.   The poverty rate is the percentage of people living below the poverty level or “threshold.” Each year, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget establishes a series of poverty thresholds for different family sizes and ages of household heads. Among American Indians on the Nez Perce Reservation in 2016-2020... The poverty rate was 23 percent. 586 people lived in households with an income below the poverty level. Please note that ORTL stands for Off-Reservation Trust Land.   Note: NA = Not Available. The Bureau does not report data for all reservations for all reference years. Data presented here pertain only to people who identified themselves on the census questionnaire as American Indian or Alaska Native (AIAN). 2000 data pertain only to people who identified themselves as one race only, that is, as AIAN.
